Exposition projects for Jēkabpils History museum
2013
Dd project has developed concepts of permanent and digital exhibitions for several rooms in Jēkabpils History Museum. The first exhibition is dedicated to the Struve Geodetic arc. It tells about the measuring of the Earth in the 19th century, the work of astronomer Struve and his connection to Jēkabpils. The second exhibition reveals the heritage of the Old Believers in Jēkabpils. The aim of the exhibition is to represent the tradition and history of the Old Believers from the widest possible range of perspectives. The exhibition design is based on a “room within a room” principle. A typical living room of Old Believers is recreated within the exhibition hall, outer walls on the contrary are used as a place to exhibit different media.
