Project of the permanent exhibition at the Petroglyph Museum in Gobustan
2012
Dd project has developed a project of the permanent exhibition of the Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Preserve museum. Gobustan is a unique place where one can find petroglyphs, or stone carvings, that have been created there for centuries, beginning with the Palaeolithic period. Dd project had to design the interior and permanent exhibition of the new, purpose-built building of the museum. That included 12 exhibition halls, a screening room and a conference hall. In addition, the landscape design for the museum area was created. The aim of the permanent exhibition was to provide informative and emotional context for the visitors who have come to see the petroglyphs of Gobustan. When developing the landscape design it was essential to think about the contrast between the modern museum building and the desert that surrounds it. The museum area is created as a relaxing garden which has a water pool with cascades.
